Local's Guide to Cape Cod

Cape Cod is a great place to vacation, but there are countless hidden gems that only locals can tell you about. That’s why I asked the Cape Cod Beach Chair crew what their favorite spots on the Cape are so you can experience the cape like a local! Read on to learn about the best restaurants, stores and beaches.

Shea M: Salty Crown Orleans

This local boutique is full of beautiful clothing and jewelry. Their style is coastal and chic and you’re sure to find a piece you love. In addition to wide selection of merchandise, The Salty Crown also offers the exciting experience of permanent jewelry. You can choose from a variety of stunning silver and gold chains that can be permanently welded onto your wrist to create a delicate and elegant bracelet.

Shea J: Pelham House

The Pelham House is the perfect spot for oceanfront dining. From the rooftop you can enjoy a vast view of the ocean below while enjoying a delicious meal. Come a bit early and enjoy a drink and cornhole on the lawn overlooking the shoreline. If you’re looking for a more relaxed option, try “Waves,” which is located just below the rooftop. Here you can enjoy the same great views and quality of food in a more relaxed atmosphere. The Pelham House Resort is an amazing option if you are looking for a place to stay on Cape Cod as well.

Riley: JoMamas

Two locations in Yarmouth and Orleans make JoMamas easily accessible wherever you are on Cape Cod. For breakfast or lunch, the wide menu offers many great options. JoMama’s has amazing bagels, boiled in Queens, New York and baked locally in Orleans, MA. Delicious coffee and bagels will fill you up in the morning, and the array of sandwiches are perfect for lunch.

Chase: The Beachcomber

This lively restaurant on the water will leave you speechless. Before dinner, take a walk down the beach and take in the scenery where the towering dunes of the National Seashore meet the crashing waves. Return to the Beachcomber to enjoy delicious food and drinks while enjoying the energetic atmosphere. This is also a great spot for live entertainment. The Beachcomber is a must to visit to truly experience the Cape Cod summer vibe.

Will: Boarding House

For surfers, skaters, and snowboarders the boarding house is a necessary stop during your time on Cape Cod. This small, local business is great to support and offers a cool vibe for shoppers. The Boarding House will supply you with everything you need to enjoy the waves on Cape Cod.

Maddie: Chapin Beach

Chapin Beach in Dennis is a stunning spot to watch the sunset. At low tide the beach stretches on and offers a beautiful place to walk the shore life and enjoy the sound of the waves as the sun sets over the water. This is a less popular spot making it a peaceful location to truly enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

We hope you enjoy your time on Cape Cod, and don't miss another hidden gem, the Cape Cod Beach Chair Company Store in Harwich!
